Shuttle Rack System
Shuttle Rack System Solutions for High Efficiency
The Shuttle (Mekik) warehouse rack system is fundamentally similar to the Drive-In warehouse rack system. However, it enables the loading and unloading of products along rack channels using an electric and radio-controlled carrier called the "Shuttle," without the need for forklifts to enter the rack aisles. Operating as a highly dense semi-automatic storage system, the Shuttle Rack Systems work on the FIFO (First In, First Out) or FILO (First In, Last Out) principles, maximizing storage space efficiency in the warehouse. All loading and unloading operations occur in the front aisle. The process of stacking pallets deep into the racks and retrieving them from their stacked positions is controlled via commands sent by the operator through remote control. These commands are executed automatically in sequence by the Shuttle device. This system operates approximately twice as fast as the Drive-In system, accommodating various types of stacking equipment. Shuttle devices are electromechanical and powered by batteries. They are equipped with laser scanners for faster operation compared to the Drive-In system and offer enhanced safety features. Different products can be placed on each level, and the system can handle pallets of various sizes.
